Templates

The Template Library keeps email content your team wants to reuse, so a good campaign doesn't have to be written from scratch twice. Using a template copies it into the campaign: you can edit the campaign freely without changing the template, and editing the template later never changes campaigns that already used it.

Who can use this

Everyone can browse templates. Owners and managers create, edit and archive them, and use them in campaigns.

Key concepts

Two kinds of template

Kind What it holds Created from
Structured sequence Email copy: subjects, preheaders, bodies and calls to action for one or more steps Create Email Template in the Template Library
Email shell Layout and design only (look, branding area, images). Your campaign's own copy is kept when you apply it. Save as template in a campaign

Versions

Saving changes to a template creates a new version. Campaigns that used an earlier version keep their own copy and show "Based on template Name" for reference.

Templates can't remove the unsubscribe link, the compliance line or the "Sent with Cadensiq" attribution. Cadensiq adds them to every email.

How to create a template

  1. Open Templates and select Create Email Template.
  2. Enter a Template name, choose a Category (for example Cold Outreach, Product Announcement, Executive Introduction, Event Invitation, Account Follow-Up, General) and an optional Description of when to use it.
  3. Under Email sequence, write each step's Subject, Preheader, Body, CTA label and CTA URL. Select Add step for more steps. You can use personalization variables such as {{firstName}}.
  4. Optional: under Draft with Cadensiq, describe the email, tick Use organization context, and select Generate structured draft. This uses one AI credit and never sees individual prospects. Review the draft before saving.
  5. Check the Live email preview (it uses sample values such as Sample recipient at Sample company). Use Hide preview / Show preview to make room.
  6. Select Save template.

How to use a template in a campaign

  • From the library: open the template and select Use in campaign.
  • From a campaign: on Outreach Objective, choose Choose from Library, find the template, then Preview or Use & Tweak. The same library also lists Past Campaign sequences you can reuse.

If the campaign already has content, Cadensiq asks before replacing it (Replace Content or Keep Current Content). Your audience and sending settings stay the same.

How to save a campaign's design as a shell

On Email & Personalization, select Save as template, fill in Template Name, Category / Industry and optional notes, then Save Email Shell.

How to find, edit or remove templates

  • Search by title, subject or category, and filter by Type (Email shell or Structured sequences).
  • Open a template with View template. From there: Edit, Archive, Use in campaign or Copy email text.
  • Delete template removes it permanently after you confirm Delete Permanently.

Rules to know

  • Selecting, previewing, saving or reusing a template never uses AI credits. Only Generate structured draft does.
  • Templates never contain a specific recipient's details; variables are filled in only when a campaign prepares its messages.
  • Code, scripts and unsafe links are not allowed in templates.
